Welcome to Library Nook
"A dainty place with the smell of Coffee and the sound of pages turning."
The Library Nook is a modest library located amidst a peaceful neighborhood, away from the hustle and bustle of traffic and crowd. The concept of a self-study library is quite popular nowadays and is flourishing in Ranchi. 'The Library Nook' is one of them, but our idea is not limited to just providing a private self-study space to the students, but rather building a community of like-minded people.
With the emergence of internet and abundance of information in our hands, we have lost the essence of reading books. We have forgotten the smell of a new book, the rush of emotions while reading, and the challenging debates on our favorite books. The concept of Library Nook is to bring back those nostalgic moments and provide a space where people can relax and indulge in fictional and non-fictional stories of their liking.
We want customers of all ages to join us no matter what their goals in life are. It could be kids coming in to read comics, a graduate/student preparing for competitive exams, a professional working from home looking for a change in ambience, or a housewife/ retiree/ elderly person who just wants to spend some free time reading in our library with a delicious cup of coffee.
We have designated spaces for self-study, working spaces for those who work from home equipped with charging outlets, and lounge spaces for readers. The place is designed keeping in mind the clean aesthetics, and positive colors, that are required to provide a peaceful setting, where the students and readers can concentrate better.
We have a humble, yet wonderful collection of books, that will eventually improve and grow with the support of our patrons. We encourage emerging and striving writers to join our library and use our resources to unleash their creativity and make us a part of their writing journey. We'll also be adding competitive books to our collection, which will be mainly based on the requirements and requests of our customers.
Amenities:
We have equipped the library with tables, chairs, power outlets at every table, Wi-Fi and battery backup. We will very soon be adding air-conditioners to our rooms. We have a separate kitchen equipped with a water filter, fridge, and microwave oven for our readers. The customers can get fresh and chilled water from the kitchen and can also bring their own lunch boxes which can be warmed up in the microwave oven.
We won't be keeping any eateries within the library, as we don't want to create any kind of distraction for our customers. But we'll be providing coffee so that the customers can refuel themselves to study for long hours. For emergencies, we would stock our kitchen with cup noodles for those who missed their lunch or forgot to carry their lunch boxes.
Why choose us?
- Location: There are plethora of libraries that are located in main Ranchi, but the Hatia area still lacks well-maintained libraries. So to save the commute time and the hassle to deal with traffic, the students living in Hatia can access our library facility.
- Books: Most of the self-study libraries do not have books, but with us, customers get access to a growing collection of books which can be read on-premise or issued within the same membership fees.
- Sitting spaces: Most of the libraries are built with the concept of providing a private study space so they limit the space with only tables and chairs. Along with the table and chairs, we have also added couch spaces to provide multiple seating options. If the customer is tired of sitting on a chair, they can use the couch space, which is comfortable and can help them relax.
- Costing: We have kept our prices quite nominal so that customers of all age groups can access the library.
- Reader's Club: We are also planning to start a reader's club, where the members can meet and share their stories about their current, or best reads. They can recommend books to others so that people can start reading in a genre they are not familiar with. All the arrangements for the Reader's Club meetings will be done by the Library Nook and the Coffee and the food will be on the house. The club would be open to feedback so as to make it more flexible and appropriate for all.
- Coffee: We have a coffee machine for the customers to refresh and revitalize. Now you don't have to search for a cafe where you can read a book and have a coffee. We have both sorted in one place.
What we don't have?
- Parking Area: Although we don't have a parking area, customers who join the library can park their vehicles in the Singhmore Chowk and take a 2-minute walk towards the library.
- Smoking Area: We strictly prohibit smoking within the library campus.
